Tim Baker

Tim Baker is currently Advanced Marketing Director for the NFC Business Line at INSIDE Contactless.
His original qualifications were in pure mathematics (Manchester, UK) but he has now spent 25 years working in France mostly in the hi-tech industry in semiconductor actively spreading the word for several generations of new technologies (microprocessors, microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, ASIC’s, Smart Cards and now NFC (Near Field Communications). Starting as a hardware and software engineer he has also worked in technical training, marketing communications, knowledge management and marketing. He has worked for ST, ATMEL, Gemplus, and MasterCard before joining INSIDE Contactless and has been a frequent speaker on innovative technologies on the international conference circuit.

Vincent Berge

Vincent Berge age 43, Co-Founder and General Manager, Mobile Distillery. 20 years of international experience in High Tech (Internet, 3D, Video, Mobile), in various Marketing and Business Dev. positions, within Games, Film, Broadcast and Telecom market segments.
Prior to founding Mobile Distillery, Vincent served Discreet/Autodesk Europe, Middle East & Africa for 7 years as European Marketing Director. Prior to Discreet/Autodesk, Vincent served IBM for 7 years, as European Segment Manager in multiple High Tech segment including European eBusiness, 3D and VR business. Prior to IBM, Vincent worked 2 years at Scientific Software, in Australia.

Gil Bernabeu

Effective as of October 2005, the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors has appointed Gil Bernabeu as the GlobalPlatform Technical Director for a two year term.
Gil’s main role with GlobalPlatform will be to drive forward the development of GlobalPlatform smart card standards and related technical initiatives. He will also acts as the central liaison coordinating the efforts of GlobalPlatform's three Technical Committees (Card, Device and Systems) and their working groups, ensuring that all elements of smart card solutions developed are interoperable and that backward compatibility with previous releases is maintained.
As Technical Advisor for the Standardization and Technology Department, Gil BERNABEU supports All Gemalto Marketing and product groups on Multi application infrastructure. Before this recent appointment, Gil was in charge of the road map management for the issuance software for Gemplus. In close relationship with the marketing group from the various Business units, Gil monitors a strategic plan for issuance services addressing internal Gemplus requirements as well as external for in-house offers. Previously as senior manager in the Gemplus’ Financial and Security Services Business Unit, Gil was responsible for systems architecture and product development for the personalization and smart card management software product line.

Dominique Brulé
Director of Marketing, Services Solutions, Emerging Businesses, NXP Semiconductors

Dominique Brule is Director of Marketing for Services Solutions within the Emerging Business group of NXP Semiconductors (formally Philips Semiconductors)
Dominique began his career with the company in 2000; he assumed the role of Marketing Manager for the smart card reader interface business, which includes Pay TV and banking applications. NXP is the market leader in this space with 75% market share.
In 2003, Dominique became Segment Marketing Manager for Near Field Communication ‘NFC’.  As such, he has led the business development activities for NFC technology in the mobile phone industry, including helping to define the global strategy to ensure the technology needs align with market requirements.
In 2006, Dominique joined the Emerging Business Unit of NXP semiconductors where he has the role of Director of Marketing. In this role he is in charge of identifying new service business opportunities for the company. He is based in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Brian Dobson

Brian Dobson has been the Systems Integration Manager for 10 years on the TfL Prestige PFI project  that has successfully implemented the Oyster Card across London's public transport infrastructure. He previously worked as an Information Technology Audit Specialist for TfL.  Before this he held a number of ICT management and systems development positions in the Oil industry (Mobil Oil, Phillips Petroleum).

 

Heikki Huomo

Heikki Huomo is Chief Technical Officer and Director of Innovision Research & Technology Plc and as such directs the technical design and development teams as the company continues its drive into new business areas. He joined Innovision in 2005 to lead the engineering function, create new solutions in NFC (Near Field Communications) IP and SoC development and more general near/far field passive/active RFID systems. He has a strong track record in developing challenging technical solutions to meet changing market needs, and is well known in the industry as one of the fathers of NFC in the mobile phone context.

Liisa Kanniainen
Executive Director, Mobey Forum - Vice President, Nordea

Liisa Kanniainen holds Master of Science degree in International Economics. After university studies Liisa worked a few years as a polytechnic teacher and acquired also the Polytechnic Teacher qualification.
Liisa Kanniainen has more than 12 years experience with the mobile IT Industry, focusing on the mobile financial services. Liisa has led several pioneering projects during the early days of mobile financial services. First at Digital B.V. in the Netherlands, then the next 6 years in Finland at Nokia corporation. During her Nokia Mobile Phones years Liisa worked in various management positions in product development. Her last position at Nokia Ventures was Head of R&D, mobile commerce. In 2001 she changed to Nordea Bank and Mobey Forum in order to full time concentrate on creating the cross-industry collaboration required for making the mobile financial services market as the Mobey Forum Workgroup Executive. In Nordea she is in charge of the mobile financial services on corporate level and in Mobey Forum she is since Feb 2007 responsible for all activities and daily management of the Forum as the Executive Director of the industry consortium.

Holger Kunkat joined Philips in 1999 after studying Electrical Engineering. He started is career in the area of customer application support and started to work  as product manager for NFC in 2003  and contributed actively in the Standardization work within the ECMA.
Since the founding of the NFC Forum, Holger is acting as chairman for the technical committee. Besides these activities Holger acts a Manager of the NFC Product Management within NXP Semiconductors

Serge Miranda

Serge Miranda is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNSA), France, a position he has held since October 1983 after a PH-D in Toulouse University (France) and an MS at UCLA (Univ.of California, Los Angeles).
Serge Miranda has authored or coauthored more than 90 publications (50 in English), and published six successful French books on databases (15 Editions). He has been invited in more than 60 countries to give research and strategic seminars on IT technology and data base systems.
He is presently director of (Master) MBDS the highest French University graduate degree devoted to data base systems (he founded in 1990), Internet and enterprise computing with huge involvement of industry  partners at the world level (Oracle, Sun, MicrosoftSeveral world-premiere in the area of wireless information services were performed at MBDS in the last 3 years MBDS opened a formal university “subsidiary” in Morocco, Haïti and Madagascar ( www.mbds-fr.org )
On March the 21st 1998, he was decorated (“Chevalier Ordre du Merite”) by the Ministry of Industry of France for recognition of his original contribution between higher education and industry.

Harris Monteiro Da Silva
Business & Marketing Strategy – Atos Worldline

Harris Monteiro Da Silva is a Business Development Manager in the field of new secure services from Atos Worldline.
Harris has over 20 years of experience in the information security field, as an expert, a senior consultant, a project manager and a training leader. He has broad experience in the financial services with in-depth experience in the card payment systems on assignments with the world leader international organisations (Visa and Europay International), French card associations and the major French financial establishments. Before joining Atos Worldline, Harris was a senior manager in Ernst & Young's Technology Security Risk Services (TSRS) practice. Previously Harris was the deputy head of technical division of the Cyber-COMM company, (created by major corporations: banks, card associations, stockbrokers, industry and IT services company) to intend climate of confidence for card transactions on Internet.
Harris Monteiro Da Silva has a post-graduate diploma in Economics and Politics Sciences from Paris I-Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a diploma from the Ecole Polytechnique of Tours University. He is also an administrator of the French Federation of Trust Authorities (Fédération Nationale des Tiers de Confiance - FNTC) and the French TES (eSecure Transactions) Competitiveness Cluster located in Caen.

Peter Preuss

Peter Preuss, is working for RMV since 2000. He is Head of Strategy and New Business Development. He is responsible for the design and implementation of an overall integration strategy for Mobile Ticketing within the smart card based electronic ticketing scheme. In the past he headed various R&D projects to implement new integrated services around the public transport core business, e.g. inter-modular passenger information and payment services. Since 2004 he is responsible for all NFC activities at RMV.
Before joining RMV, Peter Preuss, worked as project manager in various planning and engineering companies in the field of transportation and aviation planning. 
Peter Preuss has been educated in England, USA and Germany and holds a Master Degree in Geography and Information Technology.

Florian Resatsch

Florian Resatsch is currently working as a researcher and project manager at the Institute of Electronic Business of the University of the Arts in Berlin. Main research focus is on consumer-centered ubiquitous computing communication infrastructures with RFID and NFC. Current developments include NFC-based mobile shopping assistants and conference management systems. Mr Resatsch studied business administration at the University of Augsburg and worked for several major international companies in information technology departments.

Gerhard W. Romen
Head of NFC Market Development - Nokia

Gerhard is a Director of Nokia Near Field Communications, part of Nokia´s Emerging Business Group, and is responsible for global market development and sales.
Gerhard Romen joined NOKIA Corporation in 1999, having spent almost 2 decades in the IT industry and especially the software and solutions sector. At Nokia, Gerhard is focussing on New Business Solutions and has been part of Nokia´s NFC Solutions since 2003. He is also a representative of Nokia at the NFC Forum and is the Vice Chairman of the NFC Forum.
Before joining Nokia Gerhard was VP with Borland International, a manufacturer of software development tools, responsible for their EMEA region.  Prior to that, he held various senior management positions with client/server and database specialist Sybase and SoftSwitch Inc., a software vendor for Email and EDI switching. Gerhard started his career as a programmer analyst in the applications development environment of Data Organisation Services, a leading German software company. Gerhard studied Economics at Hamburg University.

Mikko Saarisalo
Technology Manager, Nokia Emerging Business Unit

Mikko is a Technology Manager in Near Field Communication & Devices, part of Nokia Emerging Business Unit, and is responsible for related technology areas.
Mikko re-joined Nokia in 2004, having spent almost two decades in the IT industry, cumulatively over ten years with Nokia. Mikko’s educational and professional background is on SW engineering side. At Nokia, Mikko is focusing on NFC related technologies and has been part of Nokia NFC Solutions since 2004. He has also been involved in NFC Forum from the very beginning – and before the establishment of the Forum as it currently stands.
Mikko has studied Software Engineering and Industrial Economy at Tampere University of Technology. He graduated MSC in SW Engineering in 1995.

Sophie Tacchi
Citizen ID and Wireless/Contactless Transactions Specialist, IBM South West Europe – Sensors & Actuators Solutions

Sophie has a Master of Management from Dauphine University of Paris. She has 25 years experience in electronic payment systems and worked for major inter-banking organizations, banks, retailers and telcos internationally, focusing on retail payment systems debit/credit cards systems, e-checks, e-cash, direct debits/credits. As France was leading Smart Card technologies, she participated to major projects in different fields of applications (payment, loyalty, physical and logical security, health, city cards, e-ticketing, multi-application).  Within IBM since 9 years, she participated to major smart card projects and MOTOWO payments solutions. Since 5 years, she defines offerings on both intelligent payment (contactless and mobile payment) and Citizen e-ID in her region.

Tuomo Tuikka

Dr. Tuomo Tuikka is a senior research scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. He is the manager of SmartTouch project effort in VTT, which is part of a similarly named EU ITEA based project focusing on Near Field Communication (NFC) between smart devices. Dr. Tuikka has previous experience as a Director of software product development including responsibility of international multi-site software product development team at CCC Group. Dr. Tuikka held Assistant Professorship at University of Oulu until 2002. He has been involved in several European Union and nationally funded research projects in the area of collaborative systems, usability, and virtual product development since 1996.

András Vilmos
StoLPaN / SafePay Systems

András Vilmos, Managing Director of SafePay Systems Ltd. and Project Manager of StoLPaN, has pursued a long carrier in corporate finance. He has held different leading positions at major companies, as being Chief Controller of the national carrier, and CFO of the national grid. A few years ago Mr. Vilmos launched his own company active in business and financial consulting.
In the past few years Mr. Vilmos was actively involved in the development of mobile payment solutions, and the introduction of mobile banking.
As Project Manager of StoLPaN, Mr. Vilmos coordinates the research and development activity of the 18 member international consortium to establish an open platform mobile NFC application for the support of a range of contactless services like payment, ticketing and loyalty programs.
Mr. Vilmos holds patents related to electronic transactions and is the author of a number of publications on the topic of “e” and “m” payments.

Ruben Wegman

Ruben Wegman (1966) is managing director of Nedap N.V., a diversified Dutch high-tech company listed on the Euronext Stock Exchange, a position he holds since 2002. Mr. Wegman joined Nedap N.V. in 1997 when he became managing director of Nedap CTP, a 100% Nedap subsidiary focused on the automation of petrol stations. In 1999 Mr. Wegman became responsible for Nedap’s Security Management activities.
Prior to joining Nedap Mr. Wegman held various commercial and management positions at Shell. Mr. Wegman holds a MSc. in Computer Science from the Radboud University in the Netherlands.
